Work in Progress: Tutorial System
Hi all,
I thought I'd keep you all up to date on what I'm focussing on at the moment.
Given Hornby Junction is meant to be the training room for signallers, and our tutorial level for the game in general, then it seems apt I should start work on the tutorial system!
I like there to be as much interaction as possible with these things, and I like throwing in retro nostalgic goodies so why not throw yourself back to old lessons where the teacher wheeled in the TV and the VCR, with a good old video demonstration:
The aim here will be to craft a nicely edited video taking you through the basics of the system - I might see if I can get handy with some motion graphics and video editing to make it informative and fun. Again it will be focussed on getting players going with the game rather than being a fully fledged RSSB manual translation.
You can also spot the next part of the tutorial system design - big pointy arrows and a label. Basic right. However I think it works and its in world pointing you the right way. I've at least made them animated and they billboard rotate to the players so you can't miss them.

This is a work in progress, and I'm going to try and make it a step by step tutorial with an example train coming through, maybe with narration. As always I'm happy to take feedback on where people thing the tutorial should focus on.
Bugs are still flagged and listed in the Trello, so keep an eye on that for what's coming in the next update!
